Not progressing very fast

As you can see from title this week feels like everything is on a go slow and I have got so much to do and don’t know where the start.  My parents decided to grace me with their presents last weekend and managed to do a few essential jobs around the flat so that was good.

The Gas man came on monday but with the wrong forms and tried to pass them off as the right ones so that meant they had to come back.  It worked out ok in the end because the EPC man was arranged so they ended up coming at the same time (2 birds with one stone and all that).

So now have EPC and CP12, caravan on hold and medical to look forward to. I guess things are progressing quite nicely actually but a bit despondent about the fact that no one wants to let my flat.

Caravan Adventures

I have been to look at my new home (mobile) for the next few weeks, when I eventually manage to let the flat out.  It is really nice if a little cold, ok very cold but that was because I didn’t go prepared with several thick jumpers on.  I does have a heater and an electric blanket on the bed so I am sure it will heat up in no time when I actually get in there.  I was sold on it despite the cold and the rain that continued to get worse the futher north we went. Quite honestly, I could happily live in a caravan long term.

Other things of note include a rather strange visit through Lynemouth (never again), a viewing planned and successful sales on ebay. The treasures on ebay have secured me 2 blood tests up till now and I have loads more items ending this weekend so they might meet the cost of the xray!

I have a viewing arranged for monday and the man is coming to do the CP12 certificate that hopefully certifies my gas as safe!  Just the EPC to sort now and I might be a baby step closer to getting on the first plane.

Rubbish

I didn’t realise just how much rubbish I had collected over the 4 years that I have been living in this place.  I suppose you just buy things and get presents etc. and it’s not till you start to sort out that you actually realise how much crap you have! So as a result I am clearing out and ebaying things. I only hope that somebody else wants them because of 2 crucial things: 1. I could do with the extra money (due to the mounting cost of visas, medicals, x-rays etc.) and 2. I can’t bear throwing it away, as everyone that knows me will know that I am a total recycling nut. Unfortunetely that is what will happen if not sold.  The moral of the story, get on ebay and start buying other peoples rubbish because some of it could be mine and as the saying goes one mans rubbish is another mans treasure (or something like that of the female variety).

I have actually been progressing with trip plans.  I have been researching hostels in Hong Kong and google earthing sights of Hong Kong and Bangkok and trying to plan a few things to include in the adventures.

Lettings,visas and needles

Letting- I have had another agent round today and they are putting it up with them too so hopefully some viewings in the coming weeks.

Visa- I have applied for my Australian working visa today and joy of joys, I have got to have a chest x-ray and a medical exam and even better still, I have got to go to York to get them done.  I am so looking forward to that.  The bit that bothers me is that the form specifically states not to attend the medical examination during menstruation!  Why do they need to look at my foof, is that seriously necessary?.

Needles- Had my injection today, the full works: Polio, Dyptheria, Typhoid,Tetanus and Hep A. The injections not really a problem, more of a pain that she made me bleed and I have the challenge of getting the blood out of my clothes.

Signing out before it really starts to sound like a rant.

News

Good news:- Passport is back so can start arranging my working visa for Australia. It look really wierd this time and it is chipped. Which I am sure means they can track my every move! But that is me set till July 2020 so technically I only need to come back before then to get a new one to stay a british citizen. And I got my old one back so I can keep my visas and stamps etc. Thanks guys.

Bad news:- Spoken to the letting agent again today and they very kindly reminded me that I need a new PC12 certificate for the gas and energy performance certificate for the property before it can be put up for let. It is really annoying how everyone has got to have their cut of your money (or lack of it!).

Going now to try and find more things to sell on ebay to fund the above.

Tickets

Well, finally got the go ahead from management and from the mortgage company so I went and booked the ticket. THE TICKET. Can’t believe that I have it. Really wanted to get someone else in the shop to take a pic of the advisor handing me the ticket but thought that would be really sad! Any how, you can probably visualise it any way. Promise there will be pics of the trip on here and I won’t just expect people to visualise that too.

So I leave on 4th January 2010 which is actually only 13 weeks away :)
